QuickPress for a QuickQuestion

Do smokers complain about pollution?

If yes, why? Why do they complain about pollution from cars/buses/factories/bajaj, and then smoke up a cigarette or two? Where’s the logic in that?

If not, then fair enough I guess :)

  1. There is a sarcastic or satirical joke “Eat your own shit” hehehe….

Smokers complain about air pollution? fight for “go green” life? They forget about that air pollution come out from their mouth/breath don’t they?!

They just forget that they can produce pollution too :P

  2. One more time….You hit it right, Asti!

So, if they do, it means there is some conflict of conscience, especially if they (smokers) are also active promoters for green environment fighting global warming.

If they don’t, it means our fight against global warming just gets more difficult.

  3. Just passing by.Btw, your website have great content!

  4. @Mike: Thanks. Hope you’ll come back for another visit :)

  5. When I smoked (quit in august 2005) I didn’t really pay attention to pollution, but I couldn’t stand other people’s cigarette smokes. Now, I can’t even stand a minute of being around people who smoke, and I pay a great deal of attention to pollution.

I think that is weed is illegal (in most countries) so should cigarettes.

  6. @all: Sorry for the REALLY late reply.. but I’m back now :)

@yonna: I wonder if there really is a “go green” movement that counts smokers as its members? Maybe it’s because the smoke, farmers plant tobacco, which is green? :D

@ian: Thanks! It was just a random question that popped into my head. That’s why I didn’t make a very long post out of it.. was just curious. So can we make a rule of thumb that smokers = non-enviromentalists?

@rima: Wow, sounds like you’ve really done a 180 degree turn. I specifically DETEST (bold, double underlined, and in red) people who smoke in air-conditioned places, e.g. malls/restaurants/clubs. I think I should be able to sue them at least for manslaughter…

So did quit smoking come first, or pollution awareness? Or were they unrelated?
